curing Process

CURING:

         Curing is the process of preventing the loss of moisture from the concrete or mortar 

         Curing should be done for minimum 7days for 33,43,53 grade cement

          Curing should be done for minimum  10 days for blended cement but recommend to continue for 14 days

Following procedure should be adopted for curing

     PCC                sprinkling of water

FOOTING           should be covered by                                           wet gunny bags                                                     intermediate sprinkling                                     of water

 COLUMN            should be covered by                                          wet gunny bags

 BEAM                 should be covered by                                         wet gunny bags                                                      sprinkling of water                                              bottom side after de-                                           shuttering

 SLAB                   water ponding of                                                  minimum 2" depth &                                          maximum size between                                      6' X 6' ponding size 

BRICK WORK      intermittent sprinkling                                      of water

 INTERNAL&

 EXTERNAL            intermittent sprinkling       PLASTERING         of water 

                                                                        WATER PROOFING   By bonding

TILING                        Intermittent sprinkling                                       of water

EXTERNAL              intermittent sprinkling    PAINTING               of water
